Horace McMillon is the creator of 60 Seconds of Hope, a devotional series and podcast designed to offer brief, Scripture-centered encouragement for everyday life. His writing speaks to readers seeking faith that is honest, accessible, and rooted in hope—especially in moments of waiting, uncertainty, and renewal.
With a pastoral heart and a practical voice, Horace writes for people who desire a deeper connection with God but live busy, demanding lives. Each devotional is intentionally concise, inviting readers to pause, reflect, and encounter God’s enduring presence—one minute at a time.
Horace earned his BA from Oberlin College with an emphasis in Religion and Philosophy. He earned his MA in Theology from Chicago Theological Seminary. He holds a non-accredited NTHD from the unincorporated New Theology School. He also has Clinical Pastoral Education (CPSP) from Baptist Health Systems.
In 2024 Horace launched Community of Hope and serves as its director. Previously, Horace spent 22 years in pastoral ministry including 17 years as senior pastor of Open Door Mennonite Church in Jackson, MS and five years as associate pastor of Community Mennonite Church in Markham, IL. He holds ordinations in both the Missionary Baptist and Anabaptist traditions. Horace is a “tent making” minister meaning that he and his bride of nearly 30 years both work full time jobs to provide 100% of their own financial support.
The goal of Horace's ministry is to help equip, empower, and inspire folk to live and experience the fullness of Jesus's vision in this lifetime and beyond.
